Sullivan’s culinary journey is deeply rooted in his upbringing in Jennings, Louisiana, and Lafayette, Louisiana, where he was immersed in the rich culture of Southern hospitality from an early age. Growing up in a household where cooking was a cherished tradition, Sullivan learned the art of crafting homemade meals from his father and grandmother, instilling in him a profound appreciation for the power of food to unite and nourish. It was during these formative years that Sullivan developed his commitment to preserving the heritage of Southern hospitality, recognizing the transformative role that food plays in fostering connections and creating lasting memories.
With over a decade of professional culinary experience under his belt, Chef Sullivan currently serves as the culinary visionary behind Vestal, a distinguished restaurant in Lafayette that redefines Southern cuisine with a contemporary approach. At Vestal, Chef Sullivan showcases seasonal vegetables and proteins, expertly prepared using live fire cooking techniques on a wood-burning grill and oven.
