Andrew Green

Andrew Green is from Lake Charles, Louisiana. He lived with his family in Houston, Texas for several years; this is where he was exposed to a variety of international cultures and cuisines which piqued his interest of diverse flavors.

After graduating high school in Lake Charles, Andrew attended the University of New Orleans. In New Orleans he was exposed to independent chef driven restaurants that helped shape the Louisiana food culture and restaurant scene. Upon moving back to Lake Charles in 2011 he began working in the restaurant industry where he quickly developed culinary skills while studying classical wines. After passing an entry level somali exam, he turned his attention to starting his small private dining company in 2013. He gained recognition from local business leaders in the Lake Charles community and 1910 was launched in 2015. Andrew was named by Lousiana Cookin’ Magazine as one of six “Chefs to Watch” in 2019. This award is given to chefs as a way to recognize talented up and coming chefs from across Louisiana who show a passion for tradition while delivering fresh new concepts. Andrew’s menu emphasizes quality local ingredients; if it’s beef, crab, or shrimp one can be assured that the origin is from Louisiana.
