Dylan Sorrel
Chef,
Hebert's Specialty Meats
A Louisiana native, Dylan Sorrel, infuses his Cajun roots into his cooking at Hebert’s (pronounced “A Bears”) Specialty Meats.
Born in New Iberia, growing up in Lafayette and eventually making his way to Lake Charles, Dylan was raised in the Cajun kitchen. Dylan’s father and owner of Hebert’s initially helped teach Dylan how to cook, but he picked up most of his skills by being immersed in the culture. A self-taught chef, Dylan has perfected his craft simply by doing.
Dylan has been with Hebert’s since he graduated high school. Hebert’s is a butcher shop as well as a favorite to-go spot for anyone craving authentic Cajun dishes. Among his favorite dishes to cook are any type of rice and gravy as well as gumbo. Dylan loves cooking and seeing people – especially their reactions when they taste his food.
