Earline Thomas

Chef Earline Thomas is a Culinary Arts Instructor at SOWELA Technical Community College in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Chef Thomas has a B.S. in Hospitality Management from Sullivan University and an A.A.S. in Culinary Arts and Occupations from Louisiana Technical College. She is a registered ServSafe Examination Proctor and Certified Executive Chef (CEC) by the American Culinary Federation. Chef Thomas is also a National Restaurant Association and the Louisiana Restaurant Association Education Foundation member.

Chef Thomas has over 35 years of experience as a culinary instructor and a seasoned culinary hospitality professional.

She is a well-organized and highly motivated instructor who expertly incorporates technology in the classroom. She has experience teaching all courses in the curriculum. Chef Thomas serves as a mentor to both the current faculty and students.

Chef Thomas offers an open-door policy, always wanting to engage with students and provide a listening ear. She continues to learn and grow along with her students.

Throughout her journey, Chef Thomas hopes to develop students’ enjoyment and enthusiasm for the culinary field. With an ever-growing industry, Chef Thomas strives to give her students the knowledge and skills to be productive in the real world.
