Rachelle Neblett
Chef / Culinary Arts Instructor,
SOWELA Technical Community College
Chef Rachelle Neblett is a Volunteer Chef in the Culinary Arts program at SOWELA Technical Community College in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
She was raised in Oklahoma with a family that only cooked traditional, 70’s style American dishes. It was after college as a young adult that she discovered the art form of preparing sauces. After taking a few classes, she opened a high-end catering restaurant, followed by other adventures as far-flung as the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Having mastered many cooking styles, Chef Neblett enjoys passing those skills on to others, especially students at SOWELA. She knows what it takes to operate a successful restaurant, understanding all facets of owning a business. Her expertise also includes well-executed events.
Chef Neblett incorporates these business skills into the classroom, so that students can better understand and overcome the challenges commonly faced in the culinary world to achieve their own success.
With a love for continuously trying new things and creating innovative fusions, Chef Neblett frequently tests her new ideas on her family with whom she shares a mutual love of cooking.
