Sheri L. Raleigh

Sheri L. Raleigh is the Chef Instructor and Owner of Cast Iron Skillet Culinaire, LLC in Waco, Texas. She has cross-cultural experience teaching community cooking classes for various educational, hospitality, and healthcare organizations. Cast Iron Skillet Culinaire provides “culinary edutainment” and team-building experiences specializing in Creole cuisine. Sheri holds a Masters of Science in Human Relations and Business from Amberton University in Garland, TX and a Bachelor of Science in Food & Nutrition from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. In 2022, Gifts from the Ancestors Foodways Project developed a five-part series YouTube exploring how West African Foodways influence Creole cuisine. Sheri believes, “Food Tells a beautiful story. It creates opportunities that bridge cultural divides and builds strong food communities.”
